Doucha ass or not?
Douching is a phenomenon that involves rinsing the ass before sex.
Douching or rinsing involves cleaning the anal area of poop before sex. For some people, it can provide a sense of freshness and security, which can be important for their sexual confidence. We at Sexperterna don't encourage anyone to do this, but if it's something you want to do, we have some tips on how to make it safer. In a nutshell, if you fuck in the ass, you can expect some shit. At the same time, it's important to be aware that many people can find it difficult to relax if they're worried about poop getting on their partner's dick, which in turn can affect both sex life and desire. The fear or shame around poop, on the other hand, can put high demands on bottoms to be clean. This means that some people go to great lengths to avoid poop by, for example, avoiding eating or taking laxatives, which can have other consequences. Usually, going to the toilet and doing number two before having anal sex is enough to empty the rectum of poop. However, there is always a risk that some poop will remain along the walls of the rectum, which some people choose to flush away with douching. By eating enough fiber, you can reduce the risk of stool remaining in the rectum.
Research shows that douching can increase the risk of HIV and STIs. In the rectum, there are mucous membranes covered with good bacteria that protect the anal area. When we douche, we don't just flush away poop that may be along the anal walls. We also flush away these good bacteria and dry out the mucous membranes. This in turn can lead to a weakening of the anal wall's ability to resist bacteria and infections. Drying out the mucous membranes also increases the risk of cracks where bacteria or viruses can enter. Therefore, douching is not something that we at Sexperterna recommend. At the same time, we know that many people choose to douche before sex. Our mission is not to judge but to provide information so that you can have safer and good anal sex whether you douche or not. Therefore, it is important to know how to douche in the best way to reduce any risks.
Douching 101
If you feel like trying out douching, it is important to use the right equipment. Avoid using a showerhead or having direct contact with the tap, as this makes it difficult to control the pressure and amount of water entering the body. The easiest way is to use a douche-bulb, a silicone bladder with a nozzle that can be inserted into the anal cavity where you can control the amount of fluid. For fluids, the most common is to use water, however, water dries out the anal mucosa, especially if you do it too often. If you want to be extra gentle on your ass, you can flush with saline solution (0.9%) available at the pharmacy, which helps to maintain the bacterial flora of the anal cavity and prevents the mucous membranes from drying out as easily.
Douching step by step:
- Poop first - showering is not a substitute for using the toilet
- Wash off the shower with soap and water, both the nozzle and the bladder
- Put it together and put lukewarm water in it, making sure not to get any air
- Add lubricant, both in the anal and the nozzle
- Insert the nozzle straight into the anal canal, you don't want to accidentally damage the walls of the canal
- Push the water out softly into the anal canal, if you push too hard you risk getting water into the colon
- Extend the nozzle without releasing the bladder to avoid water going into the bladder
- Let the water drain into the toilet, repeat max 2-3 times or until the water is clean
- Wash the shower with warm water and soap and let it dry properly
