Vagina

You can be born with a pussy, and you can get one through surgery. Some trans men keep their pussy, but may call it something else. All of the content that follows applies primarily to people born with a cunt, but some information may be useful for people with a surgically created cunt as well.

What is visible on the outside of the cunt are the labia majora, the labia minora and the clitoral hood, sometimes also called the foreskin. Just above the vaginal opening is the urethra, and above that is the clitoris - or rather the glans clitoris, the top of the clitoris.

The outer labia are made up of normal skin, but they are sensitive to touch and swell with sexual arousal. They are often hairy and may be slightly darker in color than the rest of the skin.

The labia minora extend from the glans of the clitoris down around the vaginal opening. They vary in color, shape and size - for example, many people have one longer and one shorter labia minora. When you get horny, they swell up and become extra sensitive to touch. They are made up of normal skin on the outside and mucous membrane on the inside. Therefore, avoid washing the inside with soap, as it can dry out and irritate the mucous membranes and increase the risk of fungal infection. Lukewarm water once a day is sufficient.

clitoris

Above the clitoris itself is the clitoral hood. Many people who have a clitoris masturbate or like to be stroked on the hood itself, on or around the glans of the clitoris. You can test it out and see if you like to be stroked, massaged or pressed. It can also feel different with different fingers or materials on sex toys, for example.

The glans, clinically called the glans clitoris, contains the most nerve endings of any part of the human body, over 10,000, which is significantly more than the glans of the cock. This makes the clitoris extremely sensitive to touch. For many people, the clitoris is a very important erogenous zone. Many people like to be caressed or licked directly on the glans, or to use a vibrator. Approximately 70 % of people with a pussy need clitoral stimulation in order to orgasm.

Like the cock, the clitoris has erectile tissue that fills with blood and swells when aroused. This causes the glans to become erect and sometimes almost disappear under the hood. People taking testosterone (e.g. as part of gender reassurance treatment) often experience permanent enlargement of the clitoris, both at rest and when aroused. There are also swelling bodies around the vaginal opening, in the labia, around the urethra and in the perineum. When you get horny, these areas swell, become more sensitive and can also change color.

The clitoris is much larger than just the glans, which is visible on the outside. From the glans, the clitoris continues into the body, along the pubic bone, a few centimeters in behind the labia minora, covering both the urethral and vaginal openings. These parts can be stimulated by massaging or pressing, both from outside and inside the vagina. Nerves also run from the clitoris to the inside of the thighs - and many people like to be stroked there too.

When you get horny, blood flow to the area around the pussy and vagina increases. The vaginal walls and glands in and around the vagina start to secrete fluid - this is called lubrication and is not the same as vaginal discharge. Lubrication makes sex more pleasurable and protects the mucous membranes. The amount of fluid varies between people and occasions. Lack of lubrication can be due to nervousness, stress, medication or illness. A good condition for getting properly wet is to feel both horny and confident. If you have persistent problems, consult your midwife or gynecologist. But remember that it is common not to get wet every time - it does not necessarily mean that something is wrong. You can also use lubricant if you want more fluid.

Wreaths

The outer part of the vagina contains mucosal folds that are sometimes referred to as the vaginal vault - and in older or colloquial language, the 'hymen'. In younger people, these folds can be quite narrow, but tend to widen naturally during puberty. When something is inserted into the vagina, the folds can stretch and sometimes bleed. But contrary to popular belief, they do not disappear - the folds remain even after bleeding.

The vagina is between 7-10 cm deep, but when you are horny it gets deeper and more spacious. At the top of the vaginal canal is the cervical canal - the beginning of the uterus. About halfway down the front of the vagina is the G-spot - an area that feels a little tight and is extra sensitive. This area is also known as the CUV complex, which stands for Clitoris Urethro Vagina Complex. The area is best found by inserting one or two fingers and making a 'come hither' motion towards the navel. Many people like to stimulate the G-spot with pressure and massage rather than caressing. It can also be stimulated via the anal area by pressing against the navel from the inside.

Hygiene

The pussy is self-cleaning and should not be washed inside the vagina. A substance called smegma forms at and around the labia - it is a secretion that protects the skin and mucous membranes. Avoid using regular soap when washing the labia and the area around the pussy, as it dries out and increases the risk of fungus. Lukewarm water is sufficient and if you feel a little dry, there are specific intimate soaps or baby oil that you can wash or lubricate with.

Orgasm and ejaculation

An orgasm is a powerful and pleasurable experience that can occur during horniness and sex. It feels different for different people, but you know best how your orgasms feel. Before an orgasm, the muscles in the pelvis tense up, and during the orgasm, the tension releases in pulsating contractions.

Around the urethra, prostate tissue can produce fluid that flows or squirts out of the urethra - this is called ejaculation, and may also be referred to as squirting or fountain orgasm. Ejaculation does not always happen at the same time as orgasm, and the amount of fluid varies between people and occasions. Some people don't notice it at all. Stimulation of the G-spot can cause more fluid to be produced.

Some people with a pussy have never had an orgasm, and others don't think it's that important. For some, it's the best thing there is. As mentioned earlier, about 70 % of people with pussy need clitoral glans stimulation to orgasm.
